Testimonials
Thank you. Tour de Force really was an amazing experience. I only finished the ride because of all the support from you and your team. Your shared passion for it all was so obvious.

I still think about the ride most days, the challenge, the people, the meticulous organisation and most of the wonderful atmosphere and camaraderie that was created. The event far exceeded my expectations in every way.

Firstly I would like to once again offer my sincere thanks to Sarah, Phil, Tracy and the rest of the team for such excellent organisation. I simply do not know how you can organise something as complicated as that so efficiently so that us, as cyclists, have such a hassle free time.

Hi, just wanted to say thanks a million, the trip was an experience of a lifetime for this Irishman. Climbing that last climb and seeing the Tour de Force van at the top (along with the high five) was one of the highlights for me. No more to say really only thanks thanks thanks thanks.

Days 16 and 17 were tough, even more so to see Phil coming back down some of the hardest climbs to give support to some of the slower riders. Why he chooses to ride these killer mountains more than once is completely beyond me!

The obvious sincerity and involvement of the Wates family, added to the nature of the event and made the fundraising important and worthwhile rather than just an obligation.

Great adventure. Grab the opportunity whilst you can because it's simply not available anywhere else. Enjoy it and realise exactly what you have achieved after you complete it.

A unique opportunity to challenge your mind and body to the extreme, while raising money for a tremendous cause. Exceptionally tough but also totally rewarding.

I did this for the personal challenge first and foremost. It was big enough for everyone to expect it to be for charity so I was pleased that it was. The involvement of the Wates family made it much more personal and so gave the event even more meaning.

It was a truly wonderful experience. I loved every minute. I cannot be positive enough about the event. I would recommend it to anyone who has even a passing interest in cycling. Thanks to absolutely everyone who was involved in putting it together, and to the Wates family for setting up such an extraordinary event. Sweeping magisterially into a French town at speed in the middle of a Phil Deeker led train is worth every bit of the suffering needed to keep the pace...

Very professional route signing and management and brilliant support: Mechanical, medical, moral! - Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant team! Accommodation - Very good, Food - Very good. A really good experience, even for a non-cyclist such as me!

As I sit at home typing this I'd love to be still on the road not back at home! Maybe I'll find the time to be a lifer one day. I felt hugely privileged to be a part of it all.

I liked the fact I met the family and friends of the trust, and got to meet people who benefited from the money. That helped as a motivation, and with the fundraising.

Whether you're already a very strong cyclist who wants to test how quickly you can ride stages of the Tour, or whether your challenge is just finishing, you meet a good cross section of riders on the Tour de Force, which for me is part of its attraction (though whatever your level, you have to have trained. Riding long stages back to back, particularly in the mountains, can't be taken lightly!). But you're also doing it for a really good cause. Being a small charitable trust, you feel more connected to the cause and the people who run it, and I'm sure that adds to the unique atmosphere generated on the ride.

A very well organised event on a very human scale. It's a tough event but the support from the team and the riders is fantastic. Everyone was out to help each other.

I would like to say that for me, personally, the experience of the whole event from being accepted to take part last November, finishing in Paris and the warm afterglow and sense of achievement, has been completely captivating and uplifting. Truly something I will never forget.

The fact that I was able to raise much more than (my £1500 fundraising target) is a testament to the quite extraordinary reason that the WWMT exists: principally that, as a family, you chose such a way to remember Will and create a legacy that will far outlive the sad and wasteful circumstance of his passing. It was a privilege to ... be able to contribute towards furthering the goals of the WWMT.

After all the months of planning and training, to be in Paris, sharing the end with the riders families, friend's and supporters, was breathtaking. Spectacular!!! A lifetime's experience not to be missed.
